Performing Arts Series
The Performing Arts Series is the hallmark of the Dearborn Highlands Arts Council: as a whole and individually, the artists presented drew from a wide range of traditions, cultures, styles and disciplines. These events will stir things up, from your head to your toes. Unless otherwise noted, events take place in the Lawrenceburg High School Auditorium.
Lawrenceburg Public Library Classics Series
The Library Classics Series presents local and regional artists in the Lawrenceburg Public Library and the North Dearborn Public Library. Free admission made possible by funding from the Lawrenceburg Public Library Services and Resources Foundation, Inc.
Gateway To The Arts
Through a step-by-step method, students and adults are taught visual arts skills which result in artwork that is realistic and attractive. Through practical demonstrations and hands-on instruction, participants progress with their skills at their own pace. Sessions explores drawing with graphite, charcoal, colored pencil and pastels, painting mediums of watercolors and acrylics, needlefelting, basketmaking, stamping and more.
We continue to develop art classes that assures personal and professional growth through the many programs offered. All of our art classes are taught by credentialed faculty in an environment that encourages free expression, leadership and responsible decision making.
Art classes range between 10 and 30 participants and will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. We accept 9 year-olds and up with an adult present.
Artist-in-Schools
Local visual artists reinforce current classrrom of area schools. Funding possible from the Ross Foundation, Duke Energy Foundation and the City of Lawrenceburg & AEP. Supplies furnished by a grant from the Dearborn Community Foundation/Lawrenceburg Youth Program.
Arts Alive! Arts Fair
A one-day celebration of the performing and visual arts of the area. Booths highlight local artists and cultural organizations. The stages feature the performing arts talent of southeastern Indiana in a variety of mediums. Each year, there is an expert lineup of quality performers showcasing their skills for the enjoyment of the crowds. Entertainment includes shows by various dancing clases, youth programs and music groups. Don't miss this chance to see the exceptional talent in our region.
Concert in the Park Pavilion
An evening concert in the Aurora City Park Pavilion. Free admission made possible by funding from the Dearborn Community Foundation and the City of Aurora.
